I am selling my bathroom online shop, which is active in three countries with three domains (.de/.at/.ch) and has firmly established itself in the respective countries. The online shop has been around for about 19 years and has been constantly developed further. The technology behind it is a JTL shop, based on the JTL Wawi. The shop system enables individual customisation, simple maintenance and item inventory management, with manageable monthly costs and is perfect for a small to medium-sized company. 

The online shop would be ideal for a plumbing company that wants to expand its business with an online shop. 

Product range: Many sanitary products, including shower trays, shower enclosures, complete showers, steam showers, bathtubs, whirlpools, bathroom furniture, fittings, etc. Many of the products can be individually configured in the shop (e.g. width, height, profile colour, glass type, etc.). 

Turnover: 
2022 approx. € 1.45 million net (with € 67,000 net advertising budget)
2023 approx. € 1.07 million net (with € 11,000 net advertising budget)
Jan-Feb 2024 approx. € 76,000 net (with € 2500 net advertising budget)

Since 2023, I have not been able to keep up with work for family and health reasons and have therefore had to massively reduce the advertising budget and also clean up the product range in order to be able to cope with the work. I focussed on higher-priced products in the range in order to still achieve a moderate turnover with fewer orders and therefore less effort. As a result, the basket value per order has risen to over €1500 and the trade margin has increased to over 32% on average. Although less money is earned overall, more profit is made per order and therefore with significantly less effort. All discarded products are still available in the merchandise management system and have simply been deactivated for the shop.

Gross profit currently in 2024: The trade margin was approx. 32 % on average in Jan-Feb 2024, meaning that a total gross profit of approx. 27,000 € was generated in the two months. After deducting the relevant costs for the online shop (advertising expenses, hosting, etc.), this left around € 22,700 net, i.e. € 11,350 per month. 

Gross profit in 2023: Approx. € 265,000 minus costs.

Visitors: Last year approx. 55,000 new visitors, approx. 70,000 sessions, approx. 190,000 € page views, average session duration 01:47, on average 2.7 pages per session, 1.3 sessions per user

Target group: 
Gender 45 % female, 55 % male
Age 27 % 18-24Y, 34 % 25-34Y, 15 % 35-44Y, 13 % 45-54Y, 5 % 55-64Y, 5 % over 65Y

Visits: 
39 % organic, 35 % advertising, 20 % direct hits

The shop has solid technology, a long tradition in the market and enormous potential for expansion. Over the years, I have managed the turnover together with one employee and one part-time employee. That worked wonderfully. Since the beginning of 2023, however, I have had to manage sales alone due to the tragic loss of my two employees (unexpected departure due to illness) and at the same time had a difficult health and family situation myself. Hence the measures to streamline the product range and significantly reduce the advertising budget and therefore the sale. 

I am happy to hand over the shops with training. I want it to be in good hands and it is important to me that the handover runs smoothly and without problems for both sides.

Please also bear in mind that this is not just a bare-bones shop, but a functioning concept with over 19 years of experience. Over the years, the suppliers and the product portfolio have been so meticulously optimised that a very good margin is generated with extremely few problems. We have very few complaints and a return rate of almost 0%. We only took back one product in the whole of 2023
