Currently, I employ two individuals on a €500 contract. They can certainly be retained. They currently manage the shop alone. Naturally, if they're retained, the profit is significantly lower. This needs to be decided based on personal circumstances and intentions. I can facilitate the hiring of these part-time workers.
Legal Notice – Current Status on the Use of Song Lyrics
Our poster designs are completely independently created by us. The song lyrics used are at the express request of the customers – we offer a custom design service based on customer specifications. The customer selects the title and commissions us to create the design as a bespoke piece.
Since only one copy is sold per design, it is not mass exploitation, but a customer-specific individual creation, similar to a private copy or commissioned artwork. We do not sell the song lyrics, but a graphic design service at the customer's request.
In an individual case, a major record company contacted us. After open communication on our part and the offer to pay licenses on demand for each sold title, we received no further responses despite multiple requests. This reinforces our assumption that:
- Licensing models for single copies are hard to conceptualize,
- and the legal framework is currently more aligned with individual commissioned work.
In the long term, collaboration with rights holders would be desirable and offers clear growth potential (e.g., through licensing agreements with labels or artists).
Currently, we see ourselves legally as design service providers at the customer's request – not as commercial exploiters of third-party content in the classical sense.
The posters are currently designed in Canva, Photoshop, or Indesign. There's always a base layout that's then adapted in content. If all files are to run, for example, in Indesign or Photoshop, we could, of course, implement this and prepare it accordingly for data transfer.
