German-language relationship app for couples and singles
This German-language relationship app is designed for couples and singles and offers a clear recurring revenue model. Income is generated through a shared subscription for both partners: €7.99 per month, €47.99 per year, or a one-time payment of €89 for a limited founding membership. Additional one-time purchases are available from €1.99 for question packs and €4.99 for the Match Check.
The daily question feature and partner linking remain permanently free. This entry-level access encourages habitual use and supports future conversion into paid users. The monetized value lies in greater depth and extended engagement: all game modes, multi-week journeys, AI evaluations, and the full content archive.
Ongoing costs are around €20 per month, plus usage-based AI costs. Break-even is reached at about ten paying couples on the annual plan. With 10,000 active couples and an industry-standard conversion rate of 3%, this would result in around €13,500 in annual revenue; with 50,000 couples, about €67,500.
What justifies the price
The valuation is based entirely on existing substance rather than projected revenue. No revenue has been generated so far because no advertising has ever been run.
That substance consists of three parts. First, the content: 5,187 questions written in German across 33 categories, 9 journeys with 399 sequential daily content pieces, and three standalone assessment formats. This represents a substantial editorial asset with significant standalone production value, even before considering any technical development.
Second, the technology: 142 API endpoints, 85 database tables, 14 game modes, native iOS and Android apps, and a fully set up payment system with subscription management. This reflects more than six months of full-time development.
The price therefore reflects the replacement cost of a finished product that is legally compliant and ready to operate, without any premium for user numbers or brand, since neither currently exists.
Backend: PHP 8.4 without a framework, deliberately kept lean. MariaDB 11.8 as the database (81 tables). Apache on Debian 13, own VPS at IONOS in Germany. Frontend: Vanilla JavaScript without a framework, HTML5, CSS3. Tailwind CSS for the layout. Installable as a Progressive Web App with Service Worker. Mobile apps: Capacitor, so that the same codebase runs as a native iOS and Android app. Both projects fully available and signed. Payments: Stripe (Checkout, subscriptions, webhooks, customer portal), live and verified with real transactions. AI: Anthropic Claude via the official API, connected for ten evaluation functions — with its own cost limit per user and an emergency stop across all users. Registration: Email with password, Sign in with Apple, Google OAuth 2.0. No dependencies on frameworks such as Laravel, React, or Vue — this keeps the app maintainable and makes it independent of version jumps in third-party projects.

I am not selling because the project has failed — but because it has reached a point that I cannot overcome alone. Affinly is fully developed and runs stably. What is missing is reach. I am a solo developer and small business owner, not a marketing person: I can build an app, but I have neither a network within the target audience nor a budget for campaigns. That is exactly what has been holding the project back for months. That is why I am primarily not looking for a buyer, but for a partner who will take over the marketing while I continue to manage the product and its further development. A 50/50 share of the revenue would be my proposal — the exact arrangement is open for discussion. A full sale is possible if someone wants to continue the project independently. What matters more to me is that Affinly finds users than that I keep it.
